1. Function

The function of the Open Educational Resource Committee is to establish, develop and review policies and procedures that will raise OER awareness and increase OER adoption at Imperial Valley College.

2. Purpose

The purpose of the Open Educational Resource Committee will be to advise the Senate, its Curriculum subcommittee, and the DE Committee on increasing campus OER awareness and OER adoption at IVC.
To provide a faculty overview of all Open Educational Resource and distributed activities conducted at Imperial Valley College
To work with all relevant faculty and administrators to encourage OER awareness and adoption while maintaining, enhancing, and evaluating high standards of academic quality, at a level appropriate to the students for which the content is developed.

The IVC OER committee meets every third Tuesday of the month during regular semester sessions (Fall/Spring) at 2:30pm. The OER Committee is an open committee; visitors are welcome!
